DETALLES
Discover the soul of Antioquia in every sip.
Grown in the misty highlands of southwestern Antioquia, Tipica Traditional Coffee is a specialty whole bean coffee that embodies the land, climate, and tradition of Colombian coffee growing. Cultivated by the Urrego family on Finca Amagamiento, in the municipality of Caicedo, this coffee reflects the harmony between nature and generations of dedication to quality.
Nestled at altitudes ranging from 1,960 to 2,100 masl (meters above sea level), this farm benefits from rich volcanic soils, cool mountain air, and unique microclimates that allow for slow cherry ripening. This slower maturation results in a higher concentration of natural sugars and aromatics, giving the beans a complex flavor structure and deep sweetness.
The Colombia variety used for this coffee has been carefully developed to adapt to high-altitude environments while offering exceptional cup quality and resistance to disease. At Finca Amagamiento, this varietal reaches its full potential—producing a brew that is bright, balanced, and flavorful.
From the first aromatic impression to the final aftertaste, Tipica Traditional Coffee offers a sensory journey. It opens with aromas of bittersweet chocolate and panela, inviting warmth and comfort. On the palate, it delivers flavors of toasted nuts, balanced by a lively citrus acidity and a smooth medium body. The experience concludes with a clean finish and subtle hints of dry cocoa.
To highlight these characteristics, the beans undergo a medium roast, chosen specifically to balance sweetness and acidity without overpowering the natural complexity of the origin. This roast profile makes it suitable for a variety of brewing methods, including pour-over, French press, moka pot, and drip machine.
Tipica Traditional Coffee is offered in whole bean format to ensure maximum freshness and allow coffee lovers to grind according to their preferred method. You can choose between 350g and 500g bags, both designed with resealable closures to preserve aroma and flavor after opening.
This coffee is more than just a drink—it’s the result of thoughtful farming, precise processing, and family pride. The Urrego family handpicks the ripest cherries and carefully dries the beans on raised beds, ensuring consistent quality and honoring the traditions of their ancestors.
By choosing this coffee, you're not only enjoying a remarkable brew, but also supporting small-scale Colombian producers who are deeply rooted in their land and craft.
